Stephanie Rivers, CA

Known for her attention to detail, research and documentation skills, Stephanie Rivers has been a great addition to Scott, Rankin & Gardiner, LLP.  A Chartered Accountant since 1987, she is proficient in public accounting, doing comptrollership work for several small businesses before joining our team in 2006.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University. She has experience working in the city's technology sector, helping start-up tech businesses in all facets of accounting and taxation, including bookkeeping, commodity taxes, stock options, financing and liaising with legal counsel.

When dealing with private start-ups of any size, Stephanie works hard to implement "public-style" company policies, including proper record keeping and reporting, to make the business more attractive to potential shareholders and investors. She is dedicated to helping start-ups grow and succeed.

Stephanie is also very proficient in technical accounting, having taken a number of professional development courses through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario on the newest accounting and auditing standards.

Active in the community, Stephanie was a member of the Knoxdale Public School Council from 1992 to 2004, serving on various fundraising committees and as Co-Chair in 1995-1996. Based on her involvement with Knoxdale, she knows the importance of education — it's her philosophy to provide her clients with all of the information they need to succeed, especially when it comes to questions about new financial standards and tax changes.
